Email Security & Encryption

Stop threats at the inbox and protect what you send

Email is where most attacks start and where most sensitive information leaves your business. We filter what comes in, stop criminals from impersonating you, and encrypt what needs protecting on the way out.

Why it matters

What's at stake for your business

Phishing is the front door

Most breaches begin with a convincing email. Filtering removes most of them before anyone has to make a judgment call.

Your domain can be spoofed

Without SPF, DKIM and DMARC, criminals can send email that looks like it came from you, to your own clients.

Regulators expect encryption

HIPAA, the FTC Safeguards Rule and client contracts all expect sensitive information to be protected in transit.

What's included

Everything Email Security & Encryption covers

Inbound filtering

Anti-phishing, anti-spam, malware filtering and reputation blocking on every mailbox.

Domain protection

SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured and maintained to stop spoofing and improve delivery of your real email.

Outbound encryption

Automatic or on-demand encryption of outgoing email, without making recipients jump through hoops.

Rule-based encryption

Policies that catch sensitive content, like patient or financial details, and encrypt it automatically.

How it works

How we deliver it

Someone is sending emails that look like they came from us. How do we stop it?

That is domain spoofing, and the fix is three DNS records: SPF lists which servers may send mail for your domain, DKIM signs your messages, and DMARC tells other mail systems to reject anything that fails those checks. Set up correctly, they stop criminals from impersonating you and also improve the delivery of your legitimate email.

Can we email patient information securely under HIPAA?

Yes, with the right setup. Microsoft 365 can encrypt outbound email automatically or on demand, and rule-based encryption can catch messages that contain sensitive information before they leave. Pair that with MFA, audit logging and a signed business associate agreement with Microsoft, and email becomes a defensible way to share protected health information.

How do we stop employees from clicking phishing emails?

Combine filtering with training. Email security catches most malicious messages before they reach the inbox, and SPF, DKIM and DMARC stop criminals from spoofing your own domain. For what gets through, short ongoing training and simulated phishing tests teach staff what to look for, and a report button makes it easy to flag something suspicious instead of clicking it.
